What about naming him Meridian? A cartographer, or former traveler of the world who now entertains the hatchlings with tales of his adventures, takes care of them when their parents cannot, essentially a hatchling-sitter, and sometimes shows them episodes of his travels in the reflective surface of his pearl.


Warm-hearted, easy to get along with if you're young, adventurous, mischevious and excitable, tolerant and positive, somewhat of a jester but serious if he needs to discipline somebody. Over the course of his adventures he has gotten close to death so many times that he's pretty calm and unfazable in a crisis, and tends to take things in stride as most everything in his past was worse than the inconviniences of today, and he is just glad he got out alive and in one piece, and with his pearl intact, too!


Or what about him being sent by Tidelord to serenade Florin and lure her into the Sea of a Thousand Currents again, so Tidelord may claim her as his champion like he intended to before her rebellious, adventurous nature drove her away, and her curiosity made her sneak into the room where the largest piece of the Light pillar slab was being kept, and the ancient magic there was seeking a host and found her, unexpectedly turning a former Water dragon into a Champion of Light.

He arrives right as the latest clutch of Florin and Ascidian is leaving the nest to toddle around and play, and he and the Fae - no surprise there - very much dislike eachother as soon as the Pearlcatcher tries to flirt with Florin. He's sly and secretive, but a very good actor and unbedingt dutiful... maybe he wants something from Tidelord and has to do this because of it, like one of his deceased family members or friends - or mate, and over the course of his mission Florin reminds him of her more and more and he actually falls in love with her instead of just pretending to, even though he tries to stop himself from it, and eventually decides he cannot betray her by luring her into the trap Tidelord set for her - whom he wants back so badly, and since they're now at Tidelord's side he offered to send them back in a new body, the body of a First Generation dragon, but only if ________ were to perform a 'small' favour for him.
