Having hatched so close to the rift affected how Meslamta-Ea formed in her egg. Her egg was unusually porous, and she would have died before hatching under normal circumstances. However, instead of weakening her growth, the arcane environment infused her with power from the very moment she started forming.

The unique circumstances of her birth affected not only her magic, but her appearance as well. She possesses too many eyes, that manifest on various parts of her body. Like a mirror can see heat signatures, Meslamta can see magical auras invisible to the naked eye. It is impossible to surprise her in battle, as she would be aware of the opponent's aura. She sees magic imbalances, anomalies, and ailments, in both living beings and the environment. Her ability makes her an invaluable asset in defending agains the rift. She can see a surge in energy before it happens, making preparation far easier.
