He never should have ran off to war. No. Never. Celestrus came back different. Like he saw something he shouldn’t have. Or gained something he didn’t want. That’s got to be it. He’s lost his mortality. His morality. He’s changed for the worst. He found himself and now he’s lost. He’s got to be shade-touched. He is shade-touched. Good lord. That’s what happened during that war. That’s why he lacked emotion - empathy - when he told Tilta her family is gone. Oh gods. He was the only one who came back alive from that battle. It wasn’t against the soldiers of the Thousand Currents. The Shade was there. And now it’s here. In camp. Amongst us. It’s no longer safe here.
