Artemis is known as the troublemaker, pulling pranks and enjoying practical jokes. Some of the other dragons might get fed up with her at times, but they secretly do enjoy having her around. Despite being horrible at stealth and hunting in crowded areas, Artemis finds her place in the water, using clever tactics to capture fish and other aquatic prey. It is odd, considering that she was born in the earth flight, but the ridgeback doesn’t seem to mind at all.

Born under strict parents who demanded the best from their hatchlings, Ardest never seemed afraid of disobeying around them. Instead she would make up games and convince her friends to play them, always ending with everybody happy. Convinced that she was forcing beliefs upon the other hatchlings, her parents punished her by locking Ardest in a cave filled with water.

Hating it at first, she soon realized that it wasn’t as bad as the other dragons made it seem and turned out to be really fun. The water felt incredible to move around in, much easier than running around on land. After three days of catching minnows and cave bugs for food, Ardest was let out and her parents believed that she was cured of being out of control. However, they couldn’t be more wrong.

As soon as she was old enough, Ardest left in search for new friends, and places she could swim. After pulling a prank on a large group of dragons, they invited her to stay, promising whatever she wished. There was only one thing the ridgeback wanted more that anything: to have fun. Instead of hunting and fighting like the others, Ardest became the playmate of any new hatchlings born, and became a teacher to dragons who wished to learn how to swim.
