Biography
╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮
"Insert your dragon's quote here." ╰━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╯ Zudal grew up under the shadowy boughs of the Tangled Wood, his egg nestled safely in soft mosses and in the hollowed out stump of a century old tree. Despite growing up in richly decorated roosts of the higher caste, to him, the clusters of thin evergreens, glowing mushrooms, and ever present mist was homely to him. He grew up as the ward of a rich nocturne, one high in the Shadowbinder's favour. He eventually grew to be a servant, delivering food and drink at dinner parties and running messages and errands. For a long while he wished to become an acolyte of the Shadowbinder, to leave the roost behind and devote his life to her at the Forum of the Obscured Crescent. Until one Trickmurk Circus he was allowed to pay witness to a performance by a famously talented bard who had stopped by to pay homage to the Shadowbinder. And then he wanted to sing. And Sing he could. To make up for his lack of knowledge of song he, true to shadow flight form, made up his own rules and his own words. Many can sing of course, but precious few could Sing. His words bonded with his magic until every time he sung he was weaving magic in the air. He used his voice to buy his freedom, leaving the candle-lit and grossly decorated roosts for the mists and trees and glowing mushrooms for the freedom of travel. He began his career harassing travellers on the roads, luring them off the marked paths in the Wispwillow Grove with ghostly and haunting bits of song before using the mist and the cover of darkness to slip his claws into their satchels and pilfer there food and coin. He was content with this for awhile, but his aspirations grew, and he wished to do more. So he did, and moved onto taverns and small roosts, where he earned a decent living. He pays true to the nature of most shadow dragons. He is as mischievous as they come and as foolish as any. He starts arguments between dragons who have never met before, dropping a line of vicious dialogue before stepping back and watching the carnage unfold as entertainment. Catty, though resourceful, he sometimes finds himself biting off more than he can chew and antagonising dragons up to three times his size (and subsequently getting his tail kicked). He met his only two friends some time between them, Charlotte coming first and Winrie second. Charlotte he met after a performance at the edge of Tangled Wood, where he could see the pulsating sickness of the Scarred Wasteland's red earth through the mist and trees. She stayed with him, speaking in a soft voice. They became quick friends as she hung around more and more. They chased each other through the mist, played tricks on other travellers. And then they met Winrie. A pack of mirrors who had crossed over from the wastelands were harassing her, nipping at her legs as they drove her farther and farther into the shadowy woods. He and Charlotte scared them off with numbers and size, taking the snapper under their wings.
