SUMMITATEM
"I used to believe that revenge was the answer, but I see now that I was wrong."

A fierce but loyal ridgeback, Summitatem was born an orphan, but never gave up on her dreams. When young, she would dream about far away lands and always felt a large pull towards the unknown. It felt as if the lands were calling her name, beckoning to be explored, and that’s why finally one day Summitatem gave in to the urge and followed the call.

It didn’t start out easy of course, with harsh weather and fierce beasts working to bring down the young ridgeback. However, she didn’t give in, braving all the natural challenges along with many other dragons trying to capture her for their own dens. Summitatem would taunt them all upon escape, but her cockiness caught up to her when she was viciously maimed in the face by an assassin. Shamed at her deformity, she spoke with a member of the lightning flight about being “reborn” somehow. He gave her body enhancements, letting her become more powerful.

After the incident, she became colder and repelling, refusing to listen to anybody and instead “talked with her claws”. Many were afraid to talk to her, stepping out of the way of Summitatem’s warpath and letting her do as she pleased. One dragon wasn’t too pleased though, an imperial named Sentry. Instead of standing aside, she blocked the way, which angered Summitatem greatly. What angered her more was Sentry standing up to her and demanding for the ridgeback to leave.

Many days passed since Summitatem had left the region in rage, going without food and deciding to try and recall memories from the past. Old thoughts returned, reminding her about her original goal, and convincing the ridgeback to leave behind her life of fighting and to search for the land she dreamed about. It took her a few years, but she finally found a place where she belonged. A group of dragons welcomed her, and to Summitatem’s surprise, Sentry was there as well. After apologizing, the two of them became close, and the ridgeback knew that this was her new purpose in life. To protect those who welcomed her and the imperial who had changed her life.
