Biography

Himinbjörg of Helvete
the Earth Ambassador
Coming from a long line of gemstone merchants, and oil salesdragons, it was only natural Björg knew the ins and outs of most precious stones and minerals. It was the family business, after all, and she fit right in with the rest of the stoneheads.

All that glittered was gold, but more importantly; all that shone could potentially be a gem.

______WITH A SOUL AS BRIGHT AS DIAMOND, SHE ARRIVED

Hatched in the depths of Dragonhome, Himinbjörg—fondly referred to as Björg by all those who know her—knew little outside of the dry dirt and bland geodes of her homeland. The sweltering heat of mid-noon was a dear friend, a companion she could rely on, and the frigid nights were perfect for curling up in front of a crackling fire.

Alongside the rest of her family, and their caravan of nomads, Björg learned the trade of her ancestors. Their secrets were shared with her, every tip and trick they knew, and Björg started building her own network as they travelled throughout the lands. It turned into a genuine passion for her, a source of enjoyment, and her collection of rare specimen grew from a collection of shiny pebbles to a priceless catalogue of all the world had to offer.

Hours upon hours would be spent in the mines they visited, or at particularly interesting locations, with a basket of fine tools at her side. Björg could dig through dirt until her legs fell asleep, and then longer still.

It was a known thing that Björg never returned empty handed—bags, baskets, and pouches overflowing with ore, gems, and odd tidbits she'd uncovered from the deep reaches of the earth followed wherever she went. She simply had a knack for finding the best spots, for spotting the smallest clues that might lead her to a fine discovery, and she was lucky for it. Many dragons in her field would be lucky to be able to fill a single basket on a good day.

Much of her finds ended up sold, or turned into other wares, but Björg always set aside interesting pieces for herself. It was a fascinating thing, these finds of hers, and the piles of notebooks overflowing with ideas, thoughts, and research grew taller every time they made a new stop.

The gems had become a passion, but her true passion was understanding—she wanted to know everything.

She's sturdy and calm, a metaphorical rock in stormy weather and a good friend to many. Her original self-given mission was to explore the world and share her knowledge of precious gems and stone. All that glitters has her excited, though she will always jump at the opportunity to collect stones in general or researching geology in general.

Originally, her wanderings brought her to Valhall because she wanted to study the mountain the clan lived in. And she did that, for some time, lingering in the bowels of the lair for weeks and only coming out to eat or sleep. But as time went on, Bjorg grew comfortable. The clan was good fun to be around the few times she took a break, the food was good and the mountain offered much of interest. Some part of her did not yet want to leave, but she ignored the notion. It would be better to leave, surely. There was no permanent place for her in the Icefields, surely.

Hatched in the depths of Dragonhome, Himinbjorg--generally referred to as Bjorg--knew little outside of the dry dirt and bland geodes. Her family dealt in precious stones and minerals and Bjorg, as soon as she was big enough to help, would do her part of the family business.

By the time she was nearing her teenage years, Bjorg had proved herself quite adept at the business they did and her passion for gems and geology proved quite helpful. She'd spend hours upon hours in the mines excavating all sorts of items and resurfaced with bags, baskets and pouches full of ore, gems, and odd artifacts trapped in the deep reaches of the earth. Much of it ended up sold, but Bjorg kept a fair bit of her own findings and built herself a personal collection filled with interesting bits and pieces. Alongside these specimens, however, was a dozen notebooks overflowing with thoughts, ideas, and research.

Her true passion was understanding.
