Biography
Rako hatched and grew to adulthood in the harsh familiarity of the Scarred Wasteland, but even at a young age he began to feel an itch to move, to leave, to travel across Sornieth. He left his clan shortly after maturity and joined a pack of Mirrors as they moved down towards the Windswept Plateau, with the intent of crossing into the Ashfall Waste. Disagreements between his traveling companions lead to the splintering of the pack soon after they made it across the border, leaving Rako stranded in what was technically enemy territory.
After a few days of surviving on his own, Rako was found by Aya, a Mirror who had been born and raised in the Plateau, who was intrigued by Rako's childhood in the Scarred Wasteland. She brought him back to the clan she lived with, and Rako found himself high above the ground in a home of constantly moving platforms, utterly alien to any experience he had lived until that moment. He intended to stay only a few days, but the easygoing hospitality of the oddball clan and their own openness to travel wore him down, helped by Rako's attraction to a small, shy Wildclaw by the name of Nikephoros who he has still not yet managed to speak to directly.
Somehow, Rako found himself training for solo combat with two dragons who he wouldn't have given a second thought to before. The self-proclaimed Wind-born necromancer he can deal with, but Zora, being a Nature-born dragon with no charge but a tendency to find and adopt dragons into the clan, clashes with Rako as often as not. His goal is to someday be able to take on the Kelp Beds alone while training others; but barring that, he will at least become a successful warrior so that he need no longer rely on the presence of others while he travels. And, as odd as it still seems to him, he will always have a place in the Windswept Plateau to return home to.
