Biography
|
Firebird began to take a liking towards Phoenix, secretly writing letters to her. She initially rejected him, but once she saw his honesty, she finally relented. Then, he discovered he was in a bitter rivalry for Phoenix - with Terracotta, of all dragons. He fought Terracotta and they nearly killed each other - were it not for Phoenix, who stopped them in time. Eventually, he won over Phoenix, and they lived together happily every after. Yeah, right. Terracotta, feeling furious, tried to sabotage their relationship, whispering lies and rumors. Gradually, dragons began to distrust Phoenix, and petitioned for Spring to replace Phoenix. But he refused, and punished Terracotta instead - by lowering his rank to Messenger. Terracotta fled the Clan in a rage, and was not seen ever again. Aaaand then he discovered he was related to her. |

“So who’s it going to be, Phoenix?”
The amber Skydancer glanced uncomfortably at her two companions, sunlight reflecting off her flame-coloured gaze. Shifting uneasily, perfectly aware of a brown stare and similar amber gaze resting on her. Even the wry smile she gave was not enough to loosen the tense atmosphere, as the two nervous pairs of eyes grew in desperation.
This was the scene one sweltering afternoon. Firebird, owner of the amber gaze, along with Terracotta, who possessed the chocolate-brown eyes, had pulled Phoenix outside camp. Then simultaneously, they had asked Phoenix what she thought of both of them. Phoenix had been at a loss, and after much difficulty finished the task they had set out for her. Then came that question, the question which cleaved Phoenix into two.
But she knew where her heart strayed. It was to the fiery Skydancer, whose peach-coloured butterfly wings fluttered ever so gracefully in the wind. “… Firebird, will you…” she trailed off, at a loss for words. Sneaking glances at Firebird, for she was too overwhelmed to look him directly in the eye, she could see traces of glittering tears lining the edges of his vermilion orbs, and a hopeful smile ghosting across his muzzle.
Then she shifted her gaze to Terracotta. The Earth Flight Skydancer was shaking uncontrollably. “After all that… you would still choose him…?” he choked out, voice trembling with anger and pain. “After all that… in your eyes… he’s still better than me? What have I done wrong? WHY?” He screeched out the last word, and turned away, glistening streams of water flowing freely down his cheeks. Phoenix started towards him, but then thought better of it, and stepped back again. She had no right to comfort him now, not when she had chosen Firebird over him.
“… you’ve done nothing wrong, Terracotta… it’s not your fault…” was all she could whisper from within the swirling tornado of emotions and thoughts as the umber silhouette of the Earth Rep disappeared into the setting sun.
And then it was found out that Firebird and Phoenix were related, so... oops?
Then Elio began courting her, and since they had much more time together (helped by the fact that she was a Flight Rep) she decided that yes, okay, he was decent.
