It was no easy task, that's for sure. It was grueling and tedious most times--some people really needed to learn better handwriting--but rewarding all the same. And, as he worked his way through libraries' worth of books, he ended up picking up a few things, such as one particularly useful spell that returned something to its previous or proper place. Wonderful stuff, that. As the years went on by, Orpheus cleaned out library after library of notes and left piles of neat, new, and perfectly organized books in his wake. And, don't get me wrong, he loved the work. It was just... exhausting. After enough time had passed, Orpheus found himself with the Andromidae. At the time he arrived, they were a tiny clan of only a handful of dragons, most of them scatterbrained warmongers with no appreciation for the darker arts. But there was also Rebel, a sorcerer from the Plague domain who had learned many types of magic Orpheus had not yet encountered. Rebel was far from friendly and talkative, but the more Orpheus got to know him and the longer he was with the clan, he learned quite a few additional things that he began cataloging in his own personal collection. This was the change of pace he needed, it seemed. Eventually, Orpheus found himself a permanent member of the slowly-growing Andromidae, and, even more surprisingly, found that he didn't quite mind. He was getting older, after all, and a little more mature, which made him realize that maybe it wasn't such a bad thing to settle down for a while. The people who came and went told interesting stories, which were much more of an interesting challenge to catalog and document than reorganizing already-written notes by sorcerers long dead. So Orpheus challenged himself to write down the stories of everyone in his clan, even the travelers. If you would like to see some of his writings, all you have to do is ask him. He'll be more than happy to share the Chronicles of the Andromidae. ![]() |
