Roe

Roe blinked his eyes twice, three times, four times, trying to adjust to the bright shine of the morning sun.

He tried to lift his head, but was held down by something unknown. Everything at this point was unknown. Roe was confused, at least, he thought he was confused, he'd never really felt anything before.

He tugged his head and in one strong and swift movement, he heard a deafening crack, and as he turned around to look, he saw a mess of roots in a hole where the yew tree he once was used to stand.

It took him a couple of hours, but Roe finally found his feet, and slowly but surely walked over to a large shiny surface that looked different to the rest of his surrounding. Once he reached the lake, he looked down at his reflection and saw a dragon, covered in leaves and branches, bleeding from the antlers that had once been roots, staring back at him.

As Roe had nowhere he belonged, he got lonely sitting in the forest he called home, surrounded by the trees he used to call family. After a few months of learning how to hunt and gather food, and getting to grips with being able to go anywhere he wanted at will, Roe decided he needed to find a new family.

After wandering around the entirety of Sorneith for a few years, Roe bumped into a tiny dragon whilst she was out gathering bugs. She glowed bright as the sun, and introduced herself as Ayase. After Roe shared his story with her, Ayase cried, feeling a deep connection with him, and invited him to visit her clan, and stay if he wanted to.

He has never looked back.
