First Step Forward
"Time keeps ticking, no matter where you are or what you do." Aeolus overheard a scratchy voice say at some point in his childhood. He was rather wild and energetic despite his rich and beautiful appearance. He'd spend hours upon hours sneaking out into the wilderness to achieve something new each day. While he had been out and about, he hadn't noticed his siblings and other hatchling friends start to leave one by one. One day, he brought home some meat from a small hunt, and proudly hefted the bounty over to a tall beacon in the Sunbeam Ruins. He waited for hours to see his friends venture there, as they always did to play. Not until night wrapped its starred sky over the land did Aeolus reluctantly return to his nest. He had been wasting his time away and had his priorities mixed up, and consequences clearly followed. His siblings had all found somewhere they wanted to call "home." His friends discovered new adventures in other regions of Sornieth. He felt taken aback; they had left without a notice. Then he realized his mistake in managing time. The little and ever-so-precious time with his childhood dragons would have heavily outweighed escaping to play in the forest alone, a calculation that he had not made.

Aeolus had been quick to get to his feet and attempt to secure a "piece of himself" in the remaining hearts of his lovely home. It wasn't long before he soon grew to become a dashing dragon and decided to finally leave his nest. He captured awed gazes with his shiny filigree patterns down each town, but only those of interest, not the same love his home had. He crossed much of Sornieth on his venture for a forever place to rest and migrated to the Southern Icefield. The dragons in the cold and empty land were so cold and empty, as if they had no emotion or expression. Surely, this wasn't a place for him.
Preparing to return and continue his search, he stumbled on a shard of a bright pink crystal. He picked it up and examined it, noticing its strong aura of pure magic. Without a doubt, it was an arcane crystal. Suddenly determined to take one last round to discover the source of warm magic between his clenched jaws as he trudged through the piling and barren snowfield, he discovered a very large colony of dragons hidden between the frosted trees and looming mountains. Within the next few days, he'd become a part of the growing colony, or empire, as they liked to call it. He found his home, and reflecting on his misjudgement before, would be sure to plant his time and effort into the wellbeing of this empire and its members.
