Zead came to the clan a shy and rather reserved hatchling, startled by having been thrust into a group with no ground on who they were with two rulers that had a poor grip on their leadership position. To the hatchling, everything was foreign and too big to understand so he could only curl up and hide at the back. However, Epholy, the progrenitor leader at the time, found his courage and sense of leadership and demanded the respect of his nameless clan. Once Zead's hierarchy found their place among their dragons, they were able to soon realize that beneath their claws was a terrified spiral child. He was seeking to also find his place, capable of being more than a frightened and lost dragon.

Quick to realize the task at hand, Epholy pulled Zead under his wing and, though with the harshness of a mirror dragon, began to train the fiery hatchling his ways. It seemed that the teachings of a mirror dragon was just what he needed, for as he aged, his capabilities as an intelligent and respectful dragon began to shine like the gems scattered on his body. It wasn't too long before Epholy had shaped him into an admirable dragon with the qualities of a true king, which wasn't hard for anybody to see.

Along the way, Zead met a force to be reckoned with, named Rucori. Like him, she was fiery not only in color but in personality as well. Taken back by her rapid change of mood and her fierce nature, it wasn't long till he found himself enamored with her, temper and all.

Like Yin and Yang, Zead serves as the peaceful balance to Rucori's fiery rage.
