To be prepared for war is one of the most effective means of preserving peace.

Boaz was largely seen as a waste of time and space in his last clan, so when he wandered off for his Search, he wasn't particularly missed. When it took him to the plaguelands, leaving him with a contagious disease, Boaz stumbled across Adam.

The patriarch bought the half-dead Boaz back to the clan, leaving him in the care of the capable Ruth. It was her that nursed him back to life, and when he opened his eyes, he fell in love instantly. Ruth's Charge was the health of her clan, so now Boaz spends his days trying to help her as much as he can. He looks for long forgotten herbs, tracks animals to find their dropped items, and spends a lot of time playing with the hatchlings.

Boaz is still looking for his Charge, but something tells him that when he finds it, it still won't be as important as his love for Ruth and the clan. They saved him from a life of lonely wandering, and all he wants to do is repay them in any way he can.
