 PHAUN Her cause became the surging fire in her veins. The touch of her water piercing enough to bring shivers to the hardiest of ice dragons. There would be no tyrants on the lands of the beastclans, no loss of lifestock. She would uproot entire dens if it meant one more day of peace for these creatures- no, these people. These clans were not just an obstacle for dragonkind. They had their own lives, and she would not let any haughty being impose themselves on what was rightfully theirs. The water scathed more than just her enemies; her health had begun to fall, too many close calls eroding away her youth. Verdant scales splotched with a sickly pale touch, joints popping with her unspoken stress. Time marched on, a battle even the oldest of dragons must surrender to. Yet she found no grief in her departure, satisfied that her name would still float on the wind. The stories of her claws no doubt inspired others to pick up her mantle. She had done her part for the cause. |

Phaun moved far from the torn terrain where much blood had been spilled, eyes on the horizon of her fresh start. She could never abandon her life's work fully, but returning to the battlefield would spell her doom. So she cast aside the choices that would end life, and chose to nurture them instead. She chose a random realm, a random vicinity, and moved with the whimsical nature of change. The very journey proved her age was a bit of a problem, but she pressed on regardless. Her arrival was greeted by a surprise: a small clan juggling with an overabundance of wily unbound familiars. She dove into the metaphorical fray, twisting her way between countless beasts of countless tongues, taking the diversity in a stride. She'd been caught up in her work, hardly noticing the amazed stares of shadowy eyes. It was only after the fiasco was quelled that they approached her, eager to offer lodgings for the kindness of a stranger. She was content enough just to be back among familiar company.  |
