Chimera

I am Chimera, former servant and slave of Ragnarok of the Beast Clans, founder and leader of Clan Hiaresu under the Arcane Flight. I was sold by my father Rainwater as a newborn hatchling to save my village from starvation during the Long Winter. I served as Ragnarok's personal bodyguard and entertainer until one day, a message from the Arcanist channeled through a Wildtongue commanded my freedom from Ragnarok's gold and garnet chains.

I fled from the savage lands of the Beast Clans to my childhood home, which I found destroyed by the war. Starvation hadn't kill my family and friends, but the cruelty of other dragons had. I was heartbroken and angry at the world. I wandered alone around Sornieth for many moons, seeking a meaning, a purpose... Why had the Arcanist freed me from my physical chains so I could fly into emotional ones? What was His intention? I struggled to choose between forgiveness... and revenge.

I found myself in the Crystalspine Reaches when my purpose became clear. A wise dragon once told me, "If growth doesn't come by revelation, inspiration, or perception, it comes by pain." I was still toiling in the emotional wreckage caused by my moons of slavery and abuse and the deaths of the only family I had ever known, when I came upon My Wings, my new family, my chosen family. I didn't initially plan to lead a clan, in fact in the beginning, I thought of Dorado and Sutachi as lone wanderers whom wandered with me. "Not-So-Alone Wanderers," of a sort. It wasn't until Jynx and Kaen asked to join my clan that I truly understood my calling.

From thus was born Clan Hiaresu, a peaceful artist's colony in which creative minds and troubled hearts gathered to express their tragic pasts in non-violent and artistic mediums. My talents include sword-spinning, taught to me by Ragnarok's Knight, Aryakatra, and dancing, an entertainment skill I learned from many of Ragnarok's other prized slaves. Through these two mediums I hope to tell the legends, myths, and stories of my Arcane ancestors.
