Fabius

Fabius enjoys a rare position among the Exquisite Host- despite his middle-ground appearance, being neither plain enough to fit in with the common Drakoi or beautiful enough to enter the true Court of Hosts, his aptitude for Alchemy and willingness to produce mind-altering potions and brews more than earns him a place among those beloved to the sybarites in command of the clan. Luxury is necessary to them as the perfume-laden air they breathe, and it is his pleasure to provide it. Stimulating brews, psychotropic incenses, even experimental mixtures are happily snapped up by the who's-who of the Exquisite Host when he performs on the great bass flute set into the door of his chamber.

Less tolerable to his clanmates, however, are his own proclivities. While the Lords and Ladies of the Exquisite Host take their joys in food, drink, and other pleasures of the senses, or even pursuit of greater and greater perfection in the arts, he seeks his in manipulating other life to his own warped vision of 'perfection'. Perfumed flytraps whose pollen makes one's head swim adorn his shelves, and twisted creatures inhabit the under-halls of the Host murmuring praise to the 'Father of The After-Times'. He views the crises of the past as echoes of the future, and seeks to create Life Everlasting- even should there come a day when the Drakoi and their kin should fall. Dearest to him are his "Nova Serpentes", a clan of Serthis whose very blood he has slowly altered. Unnaturally pale, strong, and fast, these abominations have been kept well hidden from all but the highest of the Host- although more than one parent has awoken to an egg broken or a hatchling missing, with only faint tail-tracks leading back into the Crystalline Labyrinth serving as evidence. While he has been able to keep his work hidden, the time is drawing near that he may need to call upon his twisted Children and silence the inquiring words of his Liegelord forever...
