Aetherlight

A well-respected mage of the Starfall Isles, Aetherlight was a teacher to many who encouraged his students to go above and beyond. He became particularly attached to a budding and promising Fae, who showed a particular interest in the magic of the Starwood Strand's flora, which he encouraged and enabled despite the warnings of both his peers and his students.

He took the fae, Huahong, under his wing as his apprentice. One fateful night, he was awoken by a loud burst of arcane magic, infused with that of the Nature clan, coming from the Starwood Strand. To his horror, he found that the burst of magic had resulted in a tree particularily potent with Arcane magic had fused with an unconscious Huahong's body. Despite his best efforts, he found that it was irreversible and would eventually kill her.

Huahong was quiet upon the revelation, and only asked if she get permission to leave the Starfall Isles and study the magic of other domains. Knowing that her time was limited, and feeling responsible for what had happened, Aetherlight agreed and accompanied her, eventually sitting with her as she died in a hidden grove of the Viridian Labyrinth, the magic of herself and the tree creating a protective shroud of magic around the clearing.

Grieving her death, Aetherlight resolved to remain in this grove and becoming the first member of a new clan.
