Spikey is the guard dog of The Gunmetal Ghost clan. He leads the defensive forces, which include both dragons in the clan and creatures he has resurrected for this purpose. He has a violent temper, but is usually not around to show it. He is extremely wary of the newcomers Aisling always adopts into the clan, but doesn't bother to fight about it lest he receive a scathing glance or perhaps a tail slap. He worries for Aisling's safety as they leave often on missions even Spikey isn't informed of. His mean streak stems from his over-protectiveness, but that doesn't make him any less dangerous. When Aisling is around, he lightens up a bit. When he shows up around the main clan sleeping circle, he will sometimes play tricks on the hatchlings. He secretly longs for hatchlings of his own, but knows that isn't possible with his mate. He makes up for this by showing tricks to the clan hatchlings, albeit begrudgingly. He is rather mischievous when he isn't only worried about Aisling, or focusing on his work. He says his powers are less about giving life or healing creatures, and more about knowing how to strike a cunning bargain with death.
