Have you ever seen a hatchling's eyes practically light up when they start on what they love most? Seen the burning passion in every action, heard it in every word, and watched as a usually quiet or reserved dragon turned into a bouncing chatterbox of joy? If there were ever a perfect example of this phenomenon, it would be Atriphos. Born into a Shadow clan from a dragon of the Arcane, and a dragon of Lightning, he was raised on the combining of magic and technology. His mother told him stories of great lumbering beasts of metal, made to move through gears and wires and electricity, while his father taught him the mechanics of magic, of the power within each dragon and the world itself. He became obsessed with learning more the older he got. Once he was no longer a defenseless hatchling, he set off on a quest, for knowledge and experience. His first stop was the home of his mother; The Shifting Expanse. He spent a great deal of time there, studying the cables and the power, asking his own questions and marking out his own answers. The down time was spent collecting scraps in the Highland Scrub; anything metal and at very least able to be cleaned. It was a longer trip, but he eventually made it to Starfall Isles, where he hopped from library to library, filling every crack and corner of his mind with the workings of the Arcane. Those books he favored most of all were bought, or traded for, and kept sacred. But eventually, he had learned all he could from already existing materials. He needed to practice and experiment for himself. And for him to have the proper space to do so, he would need a clan to settle in. For all that he's learned in the Shifting Expanse and Starfall Isles, his true home was back in the Tangled Wood. But, as he came to find, not back with his parents. He stumbled upon a startup clan, amidst some old ruins, looking for more dragons to settle there. It wasn't very big, but they were more than willing to accommodate for his needs. Surrounded with darkened trees and friendly dragons, he felt that this place might be exactly what he needed.
