Greed took root in Abberent from the moment he hatched. It's true - all dragons have a tendency to collect, even hard. But Abberent took this drive to the extreme, with an air of superiority. He deserved all the gold in the world.

When the great pale guardian came to him offering gifts and promises of power how could he resist? Sure there is some fine print about a death oath, or some nonsense. If this mage could give him even a shred of the riches he needed it would be worth it. Before Aurix could even finish explaining the terms of the agreement Abberent interrupted. All I want, simply, is to be awe-inspiring.

Aurix turned his belly to a great glass furnace, but in doing so took the imperial's fire. But this didn't bother Abberent - who figured out how to spit molten gold as hot as his temper. His belly turned to transparent scales revealing the living piece of art Abberent has become. His wings grew glorious silken feathers to shine in the sun. This magnificent new form greatly pleased Abberent. He gladly accompanied Aurix to inspire other Imperials to take this wonderful gift.

As the clan grew and settled, they amassed a significant horde of items and treasure. Abberent gladly (and loudly) took charge of it all. Most of the time he lounges upon all the lucre, but if anyone needs something he begrudgingly lets them take it.
