Nebella, predeath

--

Nebella Feathergust didn't know what the term "retreat" meant. The shining pure black Imperial who originated from the Cloudsong came from a long line of brawlers that trained under the strongest dragons in the Wind region, possibly the whole of Sorneith itself. As soon as she hatched from her egg she was taught under the mindset that only quitters give up, and to never stop fighting for what you believe in. Nebella proved to be one of the strongest hatchlings in her class, and as soon as she aged up she was sent to fight some form of a magical [CONFIDENTIAL] in the Charged Barrens.

She was the only one left. Her comrades in the fight had been forced to retreat from the fight with serious and possibly permanent injuries, and they were insisting she give the fight up and retreat. But Nebella was filled with adrenaline, ignoring the heavy physical damage she had sustained and the pure fact that this [CONFIDENTIAL] was relentless. However... a blow with far too much electrical voltage slammed her into the ground with speeds that could tear a smaller dragon to pieces. Only then in that very moment, she finally felt pure fear, as the [CONFIDENTIAL] sped towards her at lightning speeds. Maybe it was a static shock from the charged air, maybe it was one final bout of adrenaline in a bid to save the desert's denziens. She couldn't move the lover half of her body, but she focused hard enough to cast one final Disorient that swept the [CONFIDENTIAL] into the casted tornado's path. The [CONFIDENTIAL] was finally subdued, but Nebella never saw it, as she had succumbed to her injuries.

BZZZZZT!
A newfound source of energy jolted the Imperial awake. Her vision was blurry and she could only see colors, not to mention she barely remembered what happened. All she remembered was saying goodbye to her parents at the Cloudsong before leaving for somewhere. Attempting to get up from the makeshift bed revealed she was hooked up to multiple machines supplying... electricity? Her vision had focused enough to make out lines, and everything started to take some form of shape. Only then did Nebella realize her own skin was partially gone. It was as thought chunks had been removed, but strangely they were filled in like a blister with pure electricity inside it. Reaching up to one of these wounds, it felt warm and she felt some form of pulse-

"I wouldn't recommend touching them. If they pop there's a good chance it'll screw with the machine, and it took me THREE YEARS to even figure out how to build them.", the sharp-tongued Skydancer remarked, a hint of anger and pixelated quality in his voice.
"...how long have i been dead for, exactly?" Nebella inquired, unsure if the answer was going to be a good or bad one. There was no concept of time in this building, only busy circuits and a large window giving the Imperial a long-range view of the desert containing The Source, and in the distance she could barely make out the home of the Flamecaller.
"It's been seventeen years to this very date since you died. Six of them trying to bring you back. DON'T screw your second chance up. Name's Vista, by the way." Nebella was sure that name was a reference to something related to windows, but she had better things to do with her time than to ask dumb questions. "Actually, I've also worked on a project that'll let you move freely enough around the world." And with that, Vista procured a pair of Voltaic Stormclaws, modified to directly attach to Nebella's internal power source. Attaching the contraption to the much larger Imperial's back, Nebella felt... more alive than she was at the moment. Like the grogginess of waking up had been cleared.

"We leave in a few hours for the Crystalspine Reaches. In the meantime, you should meet your companion, Static." And as if it were scripted, a Voltaic Ambassador stepped out from the machine they were fixing, and bowed respectfully.
"They'll fix your battery pack when it runs low. If it completely dies, it'll take you with it. They do a good job but don't cause any flashing lights because they will drop everything and fly to the source as fast as possible." The Mith seems a little grumpy at the statement, probably embarrassed at one of their weaknesses.
"What should I do when I get there?" asked Nebella.
"Fight. Isn't that what you did for most of your life?" was the only remark she got. And after some time of checking vitals and packing electricity, the three confidants set out to the Starfall Isles with a new life set out for them.
