Lineage

Biography

The runes follow her eyes. They are simply wisps, flowing in the air. Gracefully, they land on their specific plate. The ribbon starts to glow. The stone bogsneak statue has started to come to life.

Each piece of stone delicately falls off. A bright yellow and pink opal starts peering through. The ribbons are now gleaming with luminosity. A pair of fairie wings form. Thorns take shape on the bogsneak's tail.

In a quiet and calming voice, she says, "Who has awoken me from my long slumber?"

Gazing at this dragon, she starts to grow bigger. Her wings expand and she is a giant compared to your small body. Her eyes start to open. Her neck turns, and she's looking side to side. Her eyes meet yours, and she's peering down on you. Like a goddess, she repeats herself with more confidence more sternly.

"Who has awoken me from my long slumber? Was it you, puny human?"

Your legs start turning to stone. All blood circulation to your feet have been cut off. The longer she stares, the more of your body becomes stone. The curse is starting to pass onto you. This was your greatest fear when waking Isolda.

You take a large gulp. Your mouth opens, enough for your teeth to be visible. She stares at you once more. Half of your body is stone, and you are becoming a very well carved statue. You lose a few breaths. Inhaling, you take one last breath of fresh air before your lungs are covered in rock.

Neither of you exchange words, only glances. The runes appear to be fading away, and Isolda is trying hard to turn you completely to stone. Your head is the only exposure you have of the real world left. Your mouth can no longer move. You panic, and start to lose oxygen quickly. Your cheekbones are covered. Your nose and eyes are crystallized. Finally, the remaining strands of hair have been completely turned to stone. The only thing that remains of your presence is your statue and a shocked face.

Isolda's runes have completely faded away. She's weary, and returns to her deep slumber.
