Morpheus was the direct result of a forbiddencoupling of a seraph and a mortal. As a result of this Morpheus was treated with disdain the very second his egg came into existence and that disdain continued long into his youth. He never knew who his father was nor did his mother ever tell him anything about him. His mother, while she may have provided shelter and food for him never once treated him with affection nor told him that she loved him.

Having grown without truly knowing love, Morpheus was greatly surprised by the world around him when he finally ventured off on his own. He wondered far and taught himself how to hunt and learned ever so slowly that there was such a thing as love. Though he himself could not truly put his faith in finding love for himself he did take advantage of the many available lovers he was privy to attracting with his charm and handsome looks.

Morpheus carried on with this lifestyle for many years, never truly finding anything too substantial to hold his interest. That is until he discovered that, his mortal mother was on her death bed and he remained youthful and not a single wrinkle had appeared. Many accused him of being a demon, a vampire, and monster. His mother, whom had only ever shown him distance, told him the truth of who he was - the son of a divine angel and mere weak mortal. Morpheus had inherited much more of his father's genes than his mothers - all he had of hers were his eyes. In the end Morpheus' mother had still never told him that she loved him but he supposed, in her own way she had cared and he would remember her for that.

Abaddon - Fallen Angel

Morpheus has an odd fascination with the Angel of Death [Abaddon]. He stumbled across the clan the Angel lives in on a whim and has yet to leave. Morpheus finds the fact that Abaddon fell from grace and is now corrupted - by a vampire no less - to be quite the intriguing factor. He finds entertainment in following Abaddon around throughout the day which in turn annoys Erebus, Abaddon's lover.

Erebus and Morpheus don't necessarily hate each other but it can be said that Erebus definitely does not enjoy Morpheus' company. Morpheus on the other hand is rather neutral - he enjoys toying with Erebus by being flirtatious with Abaddon, though Morpheus has no true intention of ever following through with his flirting.

Morpheus, besides being a pest to Erebus, is usually either pestering Abaddon with questions in regard to his life as an angel or just hitting on anyone he finds attractive. In particular the other angels that have taken residence in the clan. He blames it on his own half-angelic genes that he's so drawn to them. Perhaps a natural need to flock together?

Although he's rarely used them, Morpheus has in his possession an angelic ability/gift. Fitting to his name - he has the ability to warp reality, or at least in theory he could if he practiced enough. For now he's limited to fairly detailed but usually short, illusions.

P E R S O N A L I T Y

Extremely [usually annoyingly] intelligent and very attractive. He's good-looking and he knows it - uses his natural looks and wit to earn himself a string of lovers. He can come off as arrogant and a bit of an ego-maniac but when push come to shove, Morpheus can be relied on to be dependable as either a friend or a menacing opponent. Morpheus has an odd look on love - while he can admire and appreciate it in others he himself has very little experience with it nor has he truly felt it. One can only hope he'll discover what it feels like for himself one day but for now he's just fine with losing himself to the next best thing - passion.
