Neva

Her original name was Napwal, and she has had many different homes.

1st mating in a far off lair: Aether (she mourns the loss of her mate and friend, Exalted to Plaguebringer)
Children: Ssis (Exalted to Windsinger), Jwin (Exalted to Plaguebringer)

2nd mating in another lair: Glandur
Children: Bjarte and Asta (sold, then both Exalted to Shadowbinder)

3rd mating in current lair: Nacre
Children: Niraya, Lorelei, Kana, and Cecil

"Why do you have those wrappings? Are you hurt?"
"Yes. My heart has been broken repeatedly, and it has not stopped hurting..."

The dragon now called Neva is shy, slow to trust, and initially terrified to breed again, as she was afraid of her mates and children being taken from her like all the others. She fully expected the same to happen in her new home, but that was before she met Nacre, the beautiful Pearlcatcher who assured her she was safe here, and this would be her forever home. Nor, he added, would she be forced to breed unless it was her choice, and the fate of any children would be her decision to make.

His kindness shocked her, and after a few days, when she was certain he was had no designs on her, shyly allowed him to introduce her to the rest of the lair. There were so many other dragons, all of them unique, and all of them accepted her readily into their home.

It was Nacre who suggested she pick a new name, to symbolize her new beginning. She was not sure what she wished to be called, but after a few weeks of thinking and researching, Nacre helped her find the perfect name--Neva. "Your eyes have such power, but you are as serene and beautiful as the snow. It is a fitting name for you," he purred, when she made her choice.

Though she is still quiet and withdrawn, it is obvious that Neva is happy in her new home. She has shyly accepted Nacre as her mate, and they tend to their new children with joy. She spends her days curled close beside him, hoping she will never have to leave his side.
