PERFECT PEACOCKS

Perfect Peacocks are a Nature sub-species specific to the coatl breed. These particularly beautiful dragons are noted for their brilliant plumage that mimics that of the African or Indian peacock.

Contrary to what one might think, peacock coatls are no more vain than any other brightly-colored coatl. In fact, they are noted for their generosity of spirit and their nurturing abilities. Many peacock coatl assign themselves as de facto babysitters and caregivers for both hatchlings and familiars. They are also known to be excellent healers, helping many a dragon through some sickness or injury that should have killed them. Some attribute this to the fact that they are a Nature-based species and have overcome the ambition and competitive instincts of the Fire flight.

There is a rumor that peacock coatls regularly consume poisonous substances in tiny amounts in order to build up an immunity and that their vibrant colors are the result of this practice. The rumor occasionally goes even further to suggest that peacock coatls are themselves poisonous. The coatls themselves refuse to either confirm or deny this habit. (Although they will remind you of the difference between "poisonous" and "venomous", as they are definitely NOT venomous.)
