Starfall

Starfall should have been a Guardian.

He moves like a much larger dragon, stately and solid, and comports himself as though he is tall and hefty. His natural Wildclaw sprightliness only springs out when he isn't paying attention--or when he fights or fishes, when speed and slashing talons are far more important than gravitas.

He is somber, Starfall is, gentlemanly and chivalrous but altogether solemn. He takes himself very seriously and laughs little, and his parents scoffed and sent him away to find a more suitable clan, but he never could leave the pull of the undertow and the crushing pressure of the deep sea.

The first time he smiled since he was a hatchling was upon first sight of a strikingly beautiful Wildclaw wandering the shoreline. He greeted her with a stunned 'You--you're beautiful!' and, when she recoiled in disbelief, spent the rest of the day convincing her of his honesty and earnestness.

She moved as though hurt, and every protective instinct he possessed flared to life with such ferocity that he nearly forgot to breathe. But he scouted a Water clan that was large enough to provide for them and reputable enough to protect them, and he escorted her beneath the sea with all of his best intentions to help her start a new life.

He is so intent on warding her, on providing her a safe space in which to heal, that he almost forgets not to smile or laugh when she delights him with her offhand comments and quick wit.
