As a hatchling, Acel was very small and weak. His egg was damaged, wasn't incubated correctly, and he hatched prematurely. Incredibly, he still managed to survive for a while, until his body began to fail, and he became very sick. Even as ill as he was, however, one night he seemed to hear a voice calling him to the Great Furnace. Acel wandered away from his clan and nest, deep into the Great Furnace's mountain, slipping past security, until he fell down The Heartshaft into the Ancient Bellows, and plunged into a welling of magma that came from the Flamecaller herself. Emerging, somehow uninjured, he was no longer the sickly, weak runt he was born.

After falling into the Heartshaft, he tripled in size, and his magic core went out of control. Now, his fire burns nearly as hot as the volcano, and he has to wear specialized, enchanted armor so that he doesn't burn and melt everything he touches. His body is a furnace of heat itself, and he uses himself to forge incredible constructs of metal- his largest creation being the Starstrand Chains, which hold the Galaxy Focus's islands together. He lives in the depths of the Mystics’ College’s caverns, forging weapons, armor, and jewelry for Clan Fortunefall’s brokers to sell.

✴ TRIVIA

• Illyrius forbid him from trying to get involved in Por's uprising, but he still uses leftover supplies to craft as many weapons and armor pieces as he can to send to the rebellion efforts on the sly.

• Despite his titanic size, he's very bad at confrontation, and generally bends very quickly to those around him with louder voices.
