Astral Black has light sensitivity. And not like "wincing when the sun is shining" but being in a brightly lit room can cause her really bad headaches and watery eyes. As a result, she isn't always able to go to the library to read like she wants when it's a sunny day, but Spyroglyph will bring her books from there and light soft candles so that they can read together in Astral Black's room anyways.
Astral Black's sensitivity to light has her wearing coverings which both help dull the light outside -- some of the hoods/wraps are thinner than others, some block out light completely while some allow her to still see basic shapes and other things like that. She also rubs at her arms and neck a lot when nervous or even reading, and her baggier clothes/adornments make it more difficult so she doesn't dull/scratch her scales too much.

Astral Black loves to write as well as read, though it is mainly through notes scribbled in the margins of her books. Astral Black also takes interest in some animals, specifically more darkly colorful ones, as in Wispwillow Perytons, those metallic green-blue Scarab beetles, Acid Ants and Agols, finding their natural coloring fascinating. She also takes interest how things work; like engineering, but mainly towards spells and other mystical things.
