Zaria is a contradiction to their flight. Born in the Southern Icefields, the proximity of their nest to a hot spring meant that Zaria grew up with a love and draw to fire and heat, eventually setting out to make a home in the Ashfall Waste and becoming involved in the miner's union there, working on the steam engines.

When Por's rebellion began, Zaria leaped at the chance to be involved. At the same time, they felt disquiet. This was a role for Fire dragons, for them to claim part of their birthright. A transplanted Ice dragon like Zaria... well, it wasn't their place. It wasn't meant for them; they could lay no claim to it.

Wishing their fellow unionists all the successes in the world, Zaria left for somewhere quite unlike either the Icefields or the Wastes - the Viridian Labyrinth. Having read Idris' political writings in the past, the two had struck up a friendship, and now Idris invited Zaria to the Golden Canopy Clan. Looking for a new start, they went. With a dearth of other Fire dragons in the clan, Zaria was granted the title of Fire flight representative, and now agitates from afar for worker rights all across Sornieth.
