She had been a mage of untamed strength in life. Her limits were only that of which her young mortal body could withstand, for no dragon was made to channel a vast amount of magic, no matter their element.

Her tomb is large and ornate, embedded with precious gems enchanted with spells of protection. Her cold form had lain upon a dais of shining diamond, arranged as if she had only been napping, despite the centuries that had passed since she had last graced the surface,

Aethra is the most complete of them all. Her every scale still shines and her claws still rip into the clay like fine butter. Raw magic coats the air around them, a suffocating reminder that they are near. There is no longer any need to hold back her magic now. Her soul resided in a mortal container no longer, and she is free to unleash her full strength upon the mortal realm.

When they find her tomb empty, all that they knew they could was to run in fear, to hide safely away from her burning and curious gaze.
