Juniper has selective mutism. He is very anxious and even a bit paranoid, which keeps him from being able to talk most of the time. He can only talk to people he is completely comfortable with and only when he feels safe and not anxious. Most people he has met have never heard his voice, but there are a few people he feels comfortable enough with to speak. To keep things from getting too awkward, he carries a small notebook and pen with him in his woodbasket at all times. He has learned to write very quickly over the years and is known to keep up with conversations and heated arguments really well, to the surprise of most dragons. He is shy and prefers to avoid crowded places, but when he is with people he likes or people to talk to about something he's passionate about, he is very social and will not hold back. Especially with his clan he has learned to be a little more out there, though not enough to be able to speak. Most of his clanmates tend to forget his shyness when taking him to social events, which has turned out very inconveniant for everyone involved more than once, but when he wants to be alone it is always respected. In his free time, Juniper loves to play music. He isn't great, but knows the basics to alot of different instruments. Sometimes, when he is feeling anxious or paranoid, he will sneak off into the woods with one of his instruments and play to calm down. If he manages to calm himself down enough, sometimes he'll quietly sing to himself. He really loves to do so, and it's often the time he's most at peace. Playing music and singing is kind of a secret hobby of his though. He only does it when he's alone, so most of his clanmates have no idea about it. He has been caught sitting alone away from camp multiple times, but noone ever says anything about it. Other than music, he also has an interest in architecture and archeology, which is only logical when you consider his element. He loves to investigate old ruins and will often try to draw them, his notebook is littered with not only sentences, but with sketches aswell. He has a small collection of several gemstones too, which he cares for a little too much. He can easily identify most gemstones, and has decorated his lair with them. |
