Kida

Kida grew up in a large, bustling household. There was never a shortage of gleeful shrieks and haphazard horseplay when Kida’s siblings were around, but while she loved them, she simply detested the noise. While she tried and tried again to impose a communal quiet time, her lack of tenure in the family tree did not aid her anti-ruckus campaign. Realizing she was going nowhere, Kida stopped. If no one would take her seriously, she would go where no one was. Kida was a little young, but this journey, her Search, it wailed for her. Her supportive parents sent her off - one less mouth to feed, after all - and Kida wandered for the sake of silence.

She wandered through the hill and glen,
Wandered o’er the sea
Stumbled ho! A schoolhouse,
And lo, began to read.

O! When Kida learned to read. What a spectacle that was. The girl needed glasses within weeks of blazing through the library’s catalogue, and she searched the land for more bookstores to ravage. In truth, she was a courteous connoisseur, preferring to tuck herself under a tree and study solo. She found that no one bothered a diligent scholar, and she basked in this newfound peace. Finally, Kida won.
