Darnielle

Darnielle is the favorite son of clan leader Jade. He is the only hatchling she has decided to keep in the clan rather than sending off to a life elsewhere/exalted to the Lightweaver. Darnielle grew up spoiled by his mother and her mate Zora. He spent most of his childhood days playing on the sunny beach with Zora and her Ridgeback friends. They taught him some bad habits that Jade has worked hard to temper into good leadership abilities, with mixed success. Other dragons treat him like a prince of sorts, distant but polite. Eyre and her core supporters prefer to only interact with him when they must.

Darnielle is as beautiful as his mothers, but painfully awkward around dragons other than his mothers and "aunties": the clan Ridgebacks. His draconic is clumsy at best as all dragons speak to him in coatl as a sign of respect. Only Jade tried to teach him Draconic, but as he did not need to learn it he never applied himself. The rude awakening of Darnielle's adulthood taught him that "friends" were easy to come by, but true relationships were almost impossible to forge outside of his network of aunties.

A NEW FLIGHT

When his mother was ousted as clan leader by Eyre, Darnielle's position was also upset. He was relieved to no longer be at the center of such a tense conflict. He and AllEternals now share what they believe to be secret, shy meals in the evenings, trading stories and pretending they each only want to be friends.
He is hopelessly attracted to the shy AllEternals and does not know what to do about it.
