Biography
Warrior
Name means "crocodile" in Quehtoh.
Wadeil likes the dark and hates solitude. He is loyal and obsessed with power. He has very high intelligence and is not territorial. He enjoys intellectual activities and exploring. His greatest skill is jumping. He is a fast flier and alert. He is cowardly and enjoys riddles.
Wadeil is as savage as any Mirror deep down, and this comes out most in his fierce ambition. But living among Skydancers has fashioned him with an intellectual prowess superior to others of his kind. He does not consider any place his home, but prefers to wander—though he would not leave his clan, who are more important to him than any territory.
When Wadeil hatched, Keel quickly discovered that his son shared his own intensity, and Wadeil showed himself to be something of a warrior protégé, except for one thing: his raw savagery. Wadeil took after his father in many ways, and when he was young, Keel was often called upon to reign in his son’s violent tendencies. Fortunately, as a warrior proficient with strict military discipline, Keel was more than capable of reminding his son of his place—and Wadeil never dared to talk back to his father.
The clan awaited the hatching of Wadeil with trepidation, wondering what sort of creature the pairing of Keel and Biome would produce. Wadeil turned out to be pretty much what they expected, but to a less terrifying extent. Keel was intense for a Skydancer, but Biome was unusually gentle for a Mirror, and the clan failed to take this into account when speculating what Wadeil would be like. Since Keel was so intense, he was the one who could keep Wadeil from going off the rails, leaving Biome to help her son fit in to the clan on a deeper level, and they love to spend time challenging each other both physically and mentally. Since she had come to the clan as an adult and had to find her own place there, she was able to help him relate to his clanmates and show himself to be a respected member of his clan.
When he was first apprenticed to her, Wadeil saw Sylri as a bit of a drifter, and doubted he would learn much of anything from her. But the first time she lashed out at him with a sarcastic comment, he realized he may have been wrong, and came to respect her. From Sylri, Wadeil learned to learn through careful observation, and the importance of every detail, no matter how small.
