Biography

1. What Flight is your clan?
The halls of Valhalla reside in the Icewarden's territory. Exalted dragons are sent to serve the Icewarden.
2. Why did they choose this Flight?
The founder of the clan, Thor, was born an Ice dragon from an egg frozen deep within the earth of the Icewarden's territory.
3. Have they been loyal to other Flights before this? Or will they never move?
No. Thor has made a home for herself and the followers of her clan in the mountains of the Cloudscrape Crags - she would die before leaving her halls, as will the rest of her clan.
4. What would be the deciding factor in a move, if the clan had to?
They wouldn't. Even in the case of immediate danger and the threat of total destruction, Thor would refuse to leave the place that has been her home for centuries. Her followers are sworn to protect the place that houses them, and they, too, would rather perish than build a new home. They are a clan of warriors and shieldmaidens - they would fight to the death.
5. Is the clan spiritual and highly loyal to their deity? Are they indifferent?
They are mostly indifferent. While they regard the Icewarden as a being of great importance and as the deity that he is, they do not actively worship him inside of the clan. The clan's dead are believed to forever reside within the halls of Valhalla, which they believe to be of Thor's doing and that of her Seers - inside of the clan, Thor is more regarded as a figure worthy of spiritual loyalty, more so than the Icewarden. The dragons that are exalted - whether because of their age, because they are unable or unwilling to fulfill their roles within the clan or because of a failure to complete their trials - will be sent to serve under the Icewarden.
6. How does the clan view those from different Flights? Are they welcoming to all dragons, or suspcious of newcomers?
All newcomers of all flights are free to visit the halls of Valhalla, but are not allowed a permanent stay unless they have successfully completed their trials. Dragons of all flights are welcome to try and make the exhausting journey up the freezing, unforgiving mountains of the Cloudscrape Crags - due to the nature of the climate the clan resides in, most of the dragons that survive the trip through the mountains are Ice dragons. However, it is not uncommon for dragons of other elements to make the trip - it is said that those with the strongest wills will always manage to find their way to the frozen halls, no matter how weak, old or young they may be.
7. What does your lair look like? Go into detail.
The clan's territory spans over multiple mountains within the Cloudscrape Crags, of which the largest, center mountain is the main den. The mountain and the ground beneath it has been carved into several cave systems, creating chambers, large encloves, underground rivers and more. Outside, many of the clan's ambassadors have worked together to create fields, complete with a forest that tucks into the side of the mountain and the mountainrange next to it, to make the lair more habitable for all of its residents.
The main cave that functions as an entryway into the halls of Valhalla is near the very top of the centermost mountain, facing North. The mouth of the cave gives the impression of being completely abandoned: a cave among the thousands of caves, none more or less special than the other. Upon entering further into the cave, the walls will start to feel warmer and the ever-present thrum of magic - runes carved into the hard, frozen stone of the walls. The walls of the cave will stop, blending into glittering, crystal-like ice smooth as marble lining a large hall with giant columns, text written in runes and elegant drawings and knotwork decorating every pillar and stone. Multiple effigies and torches hang from the wall and ceiling, fur rugs and leather pillows strewn onto the floor to give it the indication of a shelter. This is all most visitors of Valhalla will ever see before they are taken into the custody of the Council of Elders, where they will be guided to undergo their trials.
The large, frozen hall opens up into a small, cozy, but not any less gigantic mead hall decked out with long tables. At the end of the hall sits a massive platform - a throne, if you will, upon which Thor will sit during both council meetings and feasts.
To connect all of the various areas and cave corridors, everything opens up into the main heart of the mountain.

8. Who founded the clan?
Thor.
9. Who is your clan leader? Why are they the leader? Have there been any leadership changes?
Thor.
10. Was the leader chosen? Were they elected? An heir to the throne? Or maybe they achieved something within the clan?
11. Who handles interclan relations? Any diplomats? Peacekeepers?
Within the hierarchy of the clan, of which Thor is on the top and the sole matriarchal leader of the clan - there are several councils that make up for the reign of the clan.
12. How does your clan view the Beastclans? Who handles Beastclan relations?
Beastclans are welcome to visit or stay in the halls of Valhalla as long as they have proven to be friendly, like any other. Representatives may be chosen based on the amount of inhabitants of said Beastclan currently residing within the clan - the largest concentration of Beastclans currently present in the clan are Centaurs and Maren.
Beastclan relations are handled by Aslaug.
13. Does your clan have specific roles for each dragon?
Yes. Upon completing their respective trials (which are different for every individual), dragons are assigned a role. They are not forced to take the role they are assigned, as they have a say in the matter. Should they not accept their role after negotiations, they are asked to leave (a trip down the mountains they will most likely not survive) or serve under the Icewarden.
14. Does your clan have any Flight ambassadors? What do they do?
Yes. There are ambassadors for every Flight. They are Shieldmaidens highly specialized in the magics of their own element, and serve as both the best warriors the clan has as well as trainers, guides to those that handle the same elemental magic and help with making the harsh environment in which the clan resides more habitable. Since the clan has a territory that spans further than a single lair, parts of the mountain that the clan resides in have been repurposed as areas to make dragons of all kinds more comfortable.
Underneath the mountain, there are spiralling rivers, deep underwater caves and (hot) springs for those of the Water flight or any that may enjoy it to swim or even nest in, under the care of Vatn, Shieldmaiden of Water.
Jord, Shieldmaiden of Earth, preserves the intricate cave system that the mountain possesses, as well as make new entryways and rooms if needed. She works together with Snjova, Shieldmaiden of Snow, in making sure the mountain they all live in is in a good condition and can house as many members as is deemed needed or desired.
Apart from her tasks in maintaining the frozen parts of the lair and the outside of the mountain, Snjova is the head of the Council of Ambassadors and Thor's right hand. Born inside of the clan, she is the young embodiment of Thor's rule: born inside of the walls she has sworn to protect.
Vindr (Shieldmaiden of Wind), Gróa (Shieldmaiden of Nature) and Ljos (Shieldmaiden of Light) have worked together closely to create a plateau outside of the mountain, nestled against its side and meandering further into the mountainrange below, large enough to house dens as well as fields on which crops can grow and wildlife can roam. While the harsh weather outside rages on, Seidr (Shieldmaiden of the Arcane) has created a forcefield that allows the plateau to house the warmth Ljos gives it, and helps the wildlife and plants that Gróa has created from dying, as well as keeping Vindr's wind inside.
Seidr also takes care of the vast library the clan possesses, together with the Scholars.
Hyrr (Shieldmaiden of Flame) and Dynja (Shieldmaiden of Thunder) work closely together in the clan's forges to forge armour and weaponry for the warriors of the clan. Hyrr regulates the heat inside of the vast mountain, making sure the unforgiving cold stays outside.
Together with Mein (Shieldmaiden of Plague), Hyrr also takes care of the highly sacred death rituals within the clan. As per tradition, those who die within the halls of Valhalla are cremated in a ceremony, after which their burnt remains are brought to the tombs at the very bottom of the mountain, into the care of Grima (Shieldmaiden of Shadow).
15. Does your clan have a council? An elected group of dragons in power?
The clan has multiple councils - each with a very different set of tasks and part of the clan they control. They do not have complete power - Thor has a final say in all of the council's decision-making, even if her will is different than a council's verdict.
The Council of Elders is the most important council within the clan, which houses some of the clan's oldest members as well as some of the strongest or wisest.
The Council of Seers consists of the three bloodsisters Skuld, Urdr and Verdandi, having sworn an oath of silence.
