A dark blue-purple wildclaw trotted along the ground, the deep blue fluid under his translucent belly-scales sloshed about. His striped wings were pinned to his sides as he preferred to see the world from the ground. He gave passing dragons a cheerful trill, even if it came off a bit sinister coming from a wildclaw. He only stopped when he came to a wide river splitting the dusty ground of Dragonhome from the lush green lands of the Viridian Labyrinth.

“Looks like it’s time for a break.” Einws stretched, yawning a bit and spreading his wings up and out. The white bows flapping a bit in the wind before he pulled his wings back to his sides. He shook the blue star-speckled hood off his head, freeing the cute white bow tied to his crest. He stretched out in the sun and watched the river flow, using his second set of eyes to watch fish swim below the surface.

Einws twitched a bit when he heard feathers rustling in the wind above him. He looked up, watching a soft green and pink Coatl circle down towards him. The fluffy dragon landed gracefully, shaking out his feathers and giving Einws a happy hum.

“Hey Cumulus.” Einws curled his tail around his paws. “How has your own traveling been going?” He flattened his crests as Cumulus trotted up, booping their noses together.

“Quite well, how about yours?” His feathered mate hummed, fiddling with the bow on Einws’ crest.

“Oh, the normal. Buying random trinkets for you, picking up shiny things.” Einws purred, trying to sit still as his mate fixed the bow.

“Really now?” Cumulus tilted his head, flicking his tongue out. “Liiiike?”

“Oh you know...I found this for you.” Einws produced a pink pendant from his cloak. “You know the legends around these, right? You’re suppose to see your true love in the gem and such.”

“It’s beautiful, the gem isn’t shattered like it is a most.” Cumulus flicked his feathered crest and took the pendant. “Thank you, Einws.” He pressed his nose to Einws’ cheek.

“You wanna explore the mysterious and wild Viridian Labyrinth with me? I was getting a bit lonely on the road alone.” Einws asked his mate, twining his tail with the Coatl’s as he took the pendant back to thread a small silver chain through it.

“Sure! I’ve always wanted to visit the Labyrinth.” Cumulus hummed, tucking his paws under his body. “But could we camp here for the night? I just had to fly halfway across Dragonhome to meet up with you.”

“Sounds good.” Einws put the pendant around Cumulus’ neck, softly glowing in his plumage under the silken scarf around his neck. “Wanna hear about the place I passed through where a tribe of Longnecks and a clan of dragons lives in harmony?”

“You know I love to hear about your findings.” Cumulus turned to Einws as he started to tell him about his travels, waving his front paws around in gestures as he spoke.
