B I O G R A P H Y

The sight of a small, lonely egg in the bushes just outside the clan’s territory had caught Zerath’s eyes one day. The skydancer would often go on walks throughout the land surrounding his clan, taking in the fresh air. He had paused when he saw the egg, eyes then scanning the surrounding area for evidence of another dragon. Seeing nothing except his own tracks, Zerath moved closer. He took the egg up within his claws and inspected it, surprised to find that the hatchling inside stirred at the sudden movement. It seemed that it wasn’t about to give up on life so easily, despite its parents having given up on their child. Zerath tucked the small egg up in his cloak, whispering that they were safe as he did so. He returned home soon after, aiming for his mate and leader of the clan. Eirlys listened to her mate’s recounting of how he came to find the egg, but when he went to produce it both dragons were shocked to see it had hatched on his return. Instead of an egg, a skydancer hatchling peered up at them with icy blue eyes.

Eirlys always had a soft spot in her heart for those that had been less fortunate, even in their first few moments of life. She knew the pain of loneliness, and couldn’t say no to a young skydancer abandoned before life even really had begun for her. Missy, as she was named, became her adopted daughter that she raised with the same amount of love as her other children. Missy prospered under the care and guidance of her adopted family, flourishing and growing into an adult skydancer full of personality, zeal and overflowing with the same kindness that gave her a second chance at life. Every ounce a leader’s daughter, Missy was not one to shy away from speaking exactly how she felt. Missy met her mate in a peculiar way. While out shopping in the markets, the skydancer found herself the object of another dragon’s less than savory attentions. Her own attempts to silence the dragon had fallen on deaf ears, leaving her tense and her mood soured. Growing bolder, her harasser attempted to go from verbal to physical as they moved closer to Missy.

_Finding Love_

____ As she tried to sidestep them, the dragon grabbed hold of her wrist. It was then that her savior came, pulling the other dragon off of the skydancer and placing himself between her and her tormenter. The other dragon spat and snarled at the skydancer that had intervened, but after some intimidating stares and curt comments, they relented and wandered away. Missy didn’t know what to say, stumbling over a thank you to the skydancer. Adonis, as she soon learned his name, offered to accompany Missy through her purchases in the market and see her back through after. She, of course, obliged, cheek feathers changing to a soft hue of pink at the skydancer’s offer. The two talked as they walked, Missy, making her purchases and enjoying his company. As they finished, she found herself growing more and more hesitant to leave for the day. The sun was setting, however, and she realized she had been out in the market almost all day. The two reached as far as Adonis would walk her, finally deciding to say goodbye.

____She was smitten. There was no other way to describe it. Out in the marketplace, she had met the finest gentleman she could’ve ever asked for, and she didn’t want it to be just a chance encounter. For days, she would make the trek to the market in hopes of seeing him again. Five days passed before he finally appeared, though Adonis questioned why she seemed to be following him. Missy didn’t sugar coat her response. As they had spent time together after their first meeting, she had learned that the skydancer had no clan to call his own. So Missy offered him a place within their own. Adonis himself was taken aback, but soon agreed. The two shared a smile, then went for a walk.
