Duncan arrived in the clan young, cold and alone. He was found in poor shape at the back of the auction house by Eloise when she was young herself, he didn't know his parents or why he was there only that he had to fight to survive. Eloise felt pity and invited him to her clan, where he recovered and found a place amongst the clan.

Ever since Duncan asserted himself in the clan, a new grasp on combat was introduced and the frequency of visits to the coliseum increased. Duncan is very proud of how strong he is and how he is now the leading dragon for bringing honour for the clan and bringing home food for the other clan mates.

Duncan, while joining the clan to claim leadership, ended up second-in-command with the role of commander. Duncan remains a little bitter about not being the best, but is able to put that aside for the greater good of the clan, he is very close with the clan leader, Woodrow and is mated with the oldest and most respected member of the clan, Eloise. Most assume that he is moving past his pride to accept second place, others think he has malicious intent.

Duncan is in command of Jake and Dawnbreak, who are the official hunters and warriors of the clan. While they are a little difficult at times, Jake and Dawnbreak are loyal soldiers and they bring honour to Duncan and their clan.
