Granamyr was once a lord. Or so he claims. He can't really remember. Or so he says.

Does it matter? Not really. Because now, Granamyr is lord of the Goldvein - the glittering maze of vaults and caverns that house Clan Paralian's riches. And there are many.

Riches or vaults, you ask? Both, he answers.

Everything you ever wanted and more is in these walls. Your reflection in a golden cup, a ruby choker, a gilded labyrinth of how much can I carry? Silks, spice. Pelts, wine. Meats, sweets. Your pockets and your mind are heavy with all of them.

Come this way and he'll show you something else. Deeper, deeper. He bets you've met dragons like him before. He bets you've seen a hoard with anything you could ever want, but what about anyone? The walls of these caverns are polished and glassy, like mirrors. Anyone you want to see, anyone you want to be.

You stare into the mirror he's stopped in front of. Is the surface warped a little? Not even. Hesitantly, you reach out to touch your reflection. It is warm. Hot, even. Like a living thing.

Anyone you want to see, anyone you want to be.

Living or dead, you ask? He smiles.
