Nymphadora - The Playful Adventurer
As dark and ominous as the Tangled Wood is, who would have thought that such an environment could have reared such a bright, fun-loving dragon? Curious, impatient, and ever longing to engage in a game with anyone around her, Nymphadora loves to ask questions and poke fun at her elders and juniors. Perhaps her love for knowledge stems from her Light heritage, stained by her Shadow-y upbringing as a mischievous imp (no pun intended).
Second-born in her family among five hatchlings, Nymph never actually grew up as her siblings would rise to the responsibilities in the household. As the labor was divided evenly among her brothers and sisters, everything seemed to work out just well and Nymph was happy to spend her days in idyllic pleasure, exploring her home environment with the energy of a bright robin. Eventually, she longed to step away from her home and explore beyond the horizon.
"There is so much more to see and know, understand and experience," Nymphadora had explained to her mother one September evening. "I want to go as far as my wings will take me - my Light upbringing has instilled in me a passion for learning! And I learn by physically being places, not being cooped up in old, dusty libraries."
Her mother gave her a smile that was tinged with sadness. "At the very least, my love, take your cherished nymph, won't you? Your father and I know she will look after you carefully. Come back once a year, at least, won't you now?"
A hug and a kiss for her parents both, and warm embraces from her siblings, and Nymphadora spread her wings, taking off into the blushing pink skies that had always called her name. The delicious wind blowing against her mane, Nymphadora had never felt so liberated and joyous. As she glided towards the horizon, she knew that she would, in time, experience wondrous things, if she always kept gliding forwards and continued to feed her insatiable passion.
Yet, how and why did she settle in a Shadow clan and not Light or Arcane clans, which are known to encourage the pursuit of curiosity and learning? Such were the questions that would perplex any soul that did not understand Nymph, the innocent and charming. As a somewhat immature, young dragon who just departed from her nest in search for adventure and fun, she was no stranger to amusement and entertainment, or the desire thereof. All of her life, Nymph loved to play games and laugh - leaving home merely increased that desire. As she journeyed throughout the various villages and market squares in different Sornieth regions, it became apparent that playing pranks and little challenges with the children were new hobbies for Nymph. Of course, she never caused damage or harm and instead became known as the Endearing Nymph due to her loveability, despite her mischievousness. One day, she was scampering through the alleys in a Shadow village and ran past a peculiar dragon, kicking up dust clouds and making the him cough excessively. He became intrigued by the brightly colored imperial running around a Shadow market and reported back to Shadowcrystal who decided to offer the juvenile a place to call home.
Nymphadora's only request? "Let me play as many harmless and silly pranks and not be burdened with work," she begged beseechingly. When this was approved, Nymph decided she would fit in just well, at least for the foreseeable future.
