"Keep your allies at an acceptable distance, but always keep your enemies closer."
- Rhaego

Personality Rhaego of Summersbreath is regal, graceful and powerful. He demands respect and that everyone always gives his best, and gives both in return, but whoever dares to belittle him finds themselfes quickly facing his icy wrath. While generally being a patient and quiet dragon, sloppiness, laziness, disrespectfulness and lack of discipline will make you fall very quickly from his favour. Once you fall from it, the chances are high that you stay there; Rhaego is a very unforgiving dragon. Rhaego has great difficulties to connect to others, he even refuses to out of fear of having his trust betrayed again. His paranoia of treason goes so far that he refuses to appoint any advisors, barely any councilmembers other than the necessary, and waited years to name a new secretary of state. He'd rather be seen as cold, emotionless an solitary than having someone in a position close enough to stab him in the back, figuratively and literally. Lore Rhaego was born as the second son of the former rulers of Sumersbreath, archduke Blackshadow and his mate, lady Valara. As the second prince, his life had always been planned in advance: he was to become the general of the royal army, while his big brother Brazen was to be the next archduke. Rhaego, while showing great talent in the arts of warfare and tactics, was fascinated by the world of numbers, mathematics and statistics and to quench his thirst for knowledge, the former secretary of state and one of the few dragons that supported his interests, Yellowstripe taught him everything he knew before convincing the ruling pair to allow their son to attend a local university. They allowed it and Rhaego, undercover, of course, aced most of his classes. Such an education clearly showed, and the young prince managed to even surprise the military officers still training him, as he could now flawlessly calculate how many troops he'd need in their imagined battles, how to use them and how many losses he'd suffer. He still would return to Yellowstripe on a regular basis, exchanging knowledge or just enjoying the presence of the dragon he'd come to see as a third parent. He also would make plans with Brazen to, as soon as Brazen was the archduke, leave Summersbreath and explore Sorniet together, and later even rule together Things changed very suddendly when Brazen died in what at least seemed at the time to be a terrible accident in the streets of Summersbreath. Rhaego was forced to abandon both his attendance at the university and his training with the old officers, as well as all his dreams of adventures with his brother, to fill the now empty position of crown prince, while his little brother Ivar took the position as future general of Summersbreath. And again, Yellowstripe helped him to find sure footing in his new role. A few months later, his parents got murdered, and Rhaego had to find out that not only did the luxurious and generous lifestyle of his parents almost led Summersbreath into ruin, but also that it was Yellowstripe, his old friend and mentor, who had poisoned his father and stabbed his mother. The old Skydancer later told his protegé that he'd been pressured to join the traitorous conspiracy of the former general Warbound, so they could replace the ruling family with his uncle's. Enraged and devastated, Rhaego did not listen to Yellowstripes explanations that he'd done his best to protect Rhaego, to further his education so he'd take the throne instead of his uncle and only had to kill Blackshadow and Valara when his true intentions became known to Rhaegos uncle, and Rhaego made sure to personally execute Yellowstripe in public before starting a war against the traitors. The war was won surprisingly quick thanks to Rhaegos skills and knowledge and his enemies underestimation of him. Rhaego made sure to have all the traitors killed, and their families are constantly supervised, even to this day. Today, Rhaego has found himself in the role of the archduke of Summersbreath. He is said to be a cold and calculating dragon, even emotionless, but also to be just and fair. His paranoia to be betrayed again, however, has lead him to take Lydia as his mate. Not for love, not even for a political alliance or wealth, but because she's the niece of the late Yellowstripe, and he'd rather personally have an eye on his treacherous family.
