Leviathan is a dangerous creature who defies the lightweaver and his heritage. He is no longer an imperial, but simply takes its form for easier movement through the harsh waters that surround and exist in Sornieth. His large and graceful body cuts through the water unlike anything else that exists. He went a long time without a true name, but he eventually adopted the name given to him by those who feared his presence in the deep blue, Leviathan. His colors and patterns seem to shift with the black waters he lives in, and by the time you can see him, it's too late. His jaws have opened and his teeth have grabbed you, dragged you down by the neck. His claws have sunk deep into your wings and hide as his back legs dislocate your hips and his long body coils around you like a Boa, drowning you and rendering escape from his clutches impossible. And his eyes, his yellow piercing eyes, They've burnt deep into your soul and shown you the true dark cold of the sea and it's unforgiving children born. Leviathan despises the land, but every so often is forced to leave the sea. It was on one of these journeys that he encountered his now only companion, the Stonewatch prince Kotaren. Kotaren despised the way he couldn't go and fight with the women, seen as something precious to protect. He had fled, but had been caught and wounded in a bloody fight amongst his people. Leviathan had seen the vicious harpies, and torn them down one by one with ease, devouring them to sate his unnatural and unending hunger. It is said but not known for sure, that Leviathan spared Kotaren and instead brought him to the same place he had met the sea, and she had changed him. She changed Kotaren too, blessing him with the gift of water travel, his feathers now covered in waterproof oils and strong webbing just under the protective plumage, allowing for easy travel alongside Leviathan. Gills hide on lower down on his neck, hidden by the feathers on his shoulders. Kotaren now swims and lives with Leviathan wherever he goes, wearing the warriors mask he was forbidden to wear in an act of spite against the ones who imposed on him a life he never wanted, that evolved into something he loved. |

Leviathan had been waiting in the depths of the Sea of a Thousand Currents, on the border of The Shifting Expanse, where he encountered a clan of dragons fleeing their old home, covered in wounds. He rose from the depths to tear the weakest from the sky, only the weakest was not weak despite his injuries, but the strongest. He had chosen Viven as his target, and chosen wrong as Viven attacked back without mercy, blinding Leviathan in his right eye. Sugar however had not simply sat back and watched, and went to aid Leviathan as he sunk down back into the water, not afraid in the slightest of him as she gently tended his wounds before leaving the inky depths. It was from this moment on Leviathan decided to look for them, find them and thank them and apologize. But he would not see them again until a cocky young Mirror with sharp lightning eyes approached the waters with a fae he recognized. Not Viven, but Forekai. He followed them as long as he could in the water before taking to land and following them, back to their new, hopefully temporary home. It was here, for the first time, Leviathan and Kotaren experienced love and kindness deep in their lost souls. Leviathan became a part of SugarSand, although he stayed for no more than a three days at a time before leaving back to the sea. He at least made an effort to return every two weeks. However he will never stop his murder of dragons, especially dragons of his born flight, Light. With each visit Leviathan found the mirror he now knew to be TempestDisorder an intriguing and beautiful fellow. He had no desires for the things other dragons held precious such as family or partners. Material goods and pointless pastimes. But he found great joy in watching the odd mirror dancing about the spires as electricity hit and danced off them, and he recorded the effects and the condition of the spire. How much electricity was produced? Did the spire need replacing or fixing? Did another need to be built? Leviathan would never know what Tempest thought of all these things and how he kept up. But he found that he wanted to know, wanted to join him as he danced around the spires as grinned with joy as his never-ending job. He wanted to see every time Tempest was hit by stray streaks of electricity and just laughed and shook it off like it was an ant on his scales, laughing as he went to chase more lightning strikes and violent storms. He wanted to live by his side forever. For the first time, Leviathan understood why other dragons took joy in pointless pastimes and family. It was love and passion for each other, and Leviathan wanted more than anything to share his love and passions with Tempest. Leviathan became deeply integrated into clan life, spending less and less time travelling and more time serving drinks in his own cafe and bar while watching Tempest and a newcomer, Pelagius. It was on one of his outings that he found a weak and dying hatchling, a coatl, who had been abandoned and left to die. Leviathan felt intense feelings he never wanted to feel again, and new feelings he hadn't felt for as long as he could remember. Feelings of deep sympathy and sadness, of fondness and desperation. He gently took the child into his mouth, before carrying him to the Sea, hoping her to be as merciful as he was to Kotaren, and gift the child with hope for life. The Sea answered his wish, granting the child a body like precious glass, spines that cut through sea foam and carved silver streams through the blue oceans, and wings that became the colors of the deepest oceans or cleanest shallows as light fled or covered them. His eyes a took on an piercing electric blue that shone like the arcs of lightning that would strike the cerulean waters of his new home, his old fire eyes remembered by none by Leviathan. The coatl child was named Gladion, and was forever tied to Leviathan's side from that day on. |
