Rose

Rose had been a part of the great hunt for a good portion of her life. Seeing many faces come and go, it seemed some irony in that on an uncommon trip across her birth region she'd end up with a nasty hip injury. She wouldn't, couldn't, admit that to herself. She continued to limp, then hobble along the trail of her pack. It was days later that she attracted the attention of an annoyance. A Guardian began following her, but despite his presence being an annoyance he had food and was willing to share.

He became a tolerable presence, especially after one day where her leg refused to cooperate. She and Ata carved out a lair that slowly just started to grow from a temporary cave into a little home. She wouldn't have thought she'd ever be comfortable not going back to the hunt, but it seemed her injury was not going to heal completely. In fact things seemed worse at times, both of her hind legs would ache after too much labor. She'd need days of rest, thankful by time their hatchlings came Ata was happy to do all the running around with the little hatchlings.

Slowly she watched their lair grow, soon there were even other Mirror dragons to spend time with. She had a pack again, maybe they weren't transient or all mirror dragons but it was a family and she had never felt this at home before.
