The egg was just sitting there, cold an wet. Abandoned. Under a pile of rubbish.

No one to keep it warm, until a dragon walked out onto the plain.

She was purple, with bird skulls adorning her wings and legs. She wore the skull of the Thunder Bird and the spirits danced on her wings. She walked smoothly, a pearl in one wing, a crate in the other. She was looking through the rubbish when she spotted the egg.
"Oh, you poor thing," she cooed. She picked it up and carried it back to the Clan.

Warmth...... he pushed against the shell. He wanted to find the source of the warmth. He pushed again, a sliver of light caught his eye. Freedom. He struggled to push the shell off and felt it break. Looking up, he saw two warm pink eyes. Another pair of green eyes joined that one in looking at the small dragonet.

"Hello there, little one. I am Violetfeather, welcome to the world......Daybolt"
The green-eyed dragon picked him up and wrapped him in his warm coils.
"And I am Duskshine" He said, then licked Daybolt on the nose.
And so his journey began.
