It wasn't supposed to be that way...
Everything had to be precise: where they had come from and where they were going.

But as the dragon swayed on new claws, she knew things were never going to be the same again.

Stepping in the Mirrorworld was never something that Yminthe had always dreamed of. Although it wasn't easy at first, when she was just another egg hatching from the wasteland she had called home for many years, the young guardian had taken no qualms when it came to her survival. Or perhaps, her vanity, with no idea what the future had held for her.

Some called her ferocious, power-hungry and at the very least, chaotically realistic. The clans who knew her stood by respectfully as though she was a queen, but more on the reason that luck seemed to follow her every step.

Hunts had been successful whenever she had accompanied the hunting party. Gathering turned up more fruitful with the bits of crystals that turned up across the stacks of sand the other dragons took in. Food stores were plentiful when Yminthe came visiting, even when there was a nest, it was sure that there were almost four or more eggs turning up.

Some had suspected that she had a dark ploy, as her moods were always subject to change at the littlest inconvenience. She had a perfectionist streak, although curiously, she had taken no other lover.

The very first time the young dragon had heard about a magic mirror, she had barely blinked. Yminthe had been dealing with magical artifacts as her side-trade for as long as she could remember, her first one concerning a silver snuffbox, one that when you shook it hard enough, diamonds would magically fill up to its brim. Yminthe remembered taking it as payment for a courier service she had done for yet another clan.

This magic mirror however had different rumours surrounding its origin and capabilities, which Yminthe found intriguing soon after learning them. One dragon said that it granted wishes, although it came with a price. Another said it showed you whatever thing you most desire. Some even believed it was cursed, that a malevolent spirit was trapped inside, waiting for its next victim to possess. Or that it was just another ordinary mirror, passed down from generations to generations. There was so much that Yminthe had soon found herself in the search for it.

Reflective Fish Scales But it was more of a secret really, a pastime that Yminthe told herself she could only put little time on, if she had any free. She had other pressing matters, one that included catering to the needs of dragons whom she traded with.
