Huckleberry was merely a given nickname that caught on in the Pearlcatcher's youth. However it's been so long that he's introduced himself as anything else, that it's the only name anyone knows him by nowadays.

Rumor has spread among the whelps that this decadent dragon's pearl tastes just like a sugarmelon. Despite many attempts to lick it, none of the them have been able to prove this.

No stranger to the harsh chill of the Southern Icefields where he hatched, Huckleberry grew up with a fond appreciation for a warm fire, and a warmer full belly.
Cooked meats especially were a comfort to him, and while certain clanmates would mock him for resorting to beast tribe methods to create a fire, he looked on and continued preparing warm meals, experimenting with anything edible- or near edible- that he could get his claws on.
It wasn't long before some of his clanmates came around and started trying to weasel some of his food off of him- a request he was happy to oblige.

It wasn't meant to last however, and Huckleberry eventually began to wonder what sorts of foods the rest of the realm may have to offer. Despite complaints from those who had grown used to his cooking, he set out into the world in search of the world's delicacies- and what an eye opening journey it was.
Not only did various flights and tribes have their own methods for gathering food, many ate things he wouldn't have even dreamed of trying- though, plenty also ended up being things he wished he'd never have tried.
In particular, if someone offers you something, make them taste it first to make sure it's not a trick. If it's a plague dragon, make sure you absolutely trust them with your life.

Having spent a good chunk of his years cooking for the clan during their time in the Scarred Wasteland, Huckleberry learned a variety of ways to prepare even the most limited plates. Just as well, he got a very big appreciation for others with finer palettes, as it turned out most Plague dragons tend to prefer their food raw.

After losing his life long mate to disease, Heckleberry welcomed the clan's movement to the Tangled Wood. Both to allow him to start a new life without fear of his other kin falling to the same fate, and...the rapid increase of available ingredients never hurt anyone.
