Part 1
CHAPTER 1
Far, far away from here, a clutch of eggs lay in a nest. A Fae dragon was splayed out across the nest, giving the eggs her body heat. Then, cracks began to spread across each egg. Soon enough, the eggs burst open, and baby tundra dragons flopped out of each one. The babies attempted to give their mother affection, but nearly smothered her to death in the process.Still, Autumn managed to give them her embrace. A few days later, an old Nocturne came by, and adopted one of those little dragons. At least, that's what Zareen told me! And I think I just want to take her word for it, y'know? She's a great dragon. Personally, I think that she's telling the truth. She sort of raised me, so I trust her. Anyhow, back to this biography thing Zareen said I should write. She thought it'd be fun to look back on when i'm old and crusty.
CHAPTER 2
UGHHHHH! POSIDON AND AVENTURINE ARE SO ANNOYING! Posidon always just lectures me about how I shouldn't play with my food, but just LET ME DO WHAT I WANT, OKAY? And Aventurine just can't let me sleep in for a while.LIKE I KNOW IT'S BREAKFAST, BUT I AM TIRED. Zareen is really nice though, and always gets them off my back. She's and epic healer, and great at teaching me how to fly. She always brings me the best food, and never gets mad at me. Anyway, today Zareen came back with new clan-mates today! One of them is called Snowdrop. She's a super-shiny Coatl. She looks like an ice dragon, but she's obsessed with Arcane magic and stuff like that, so I asked her why she looks like an ice dragon, and she just asked me why I acted like a fire dragon rather than a light dragon. She says I shout too much and that I was born in the wrong clan. We got into a fight that involved me sitting on her. Zareen put us both on time out after that. The other dragon that came was ANOTHER TUNDRA! I know we have Posidon already, but he's super grouchy and annoying. The new guy is called Obsidian. He's really shy but sweet. Zareen sort of made him hang out with me at lunch. We shared my favourite type of tulips while we chatted. Well, more I chatted and he listened. He's a great listener, and really adorable. I saw him over in a corner later on. He was playing with a little mouse. I asked him why the mouse was there and he said it was his familiar. I don't have one yet, so I was a bit jealous. I asked Zareen why I don't have one yet, and she gave me a lecture about responsibility and stuff like that.
CHAPTER 3
Yet more new dragons! They are coming left, right and center, this is crazy! Today Zareen brought back a Coatl, but she's not magic-obsessed like Snowdrop, and she's called Waffles. BUT she is obsessed with her Chimera familiar. I asked Zareen again about having a familiar, but she said no. Zareen also brought back a REALLY old Bogsneak called Ethyne. Ethyne is super grouchy. The clan is getting so full! Me and Obsidian went to talk to Waffles, and she was actually pretty nice. She said her mother gave her Pancake(the name of her Chimera) to look after her when she left her original clan. Me, Obsidian and Waffles(and their familiars) messed about in the muddy areas from last night's rain. Obsidian got really, I mean REALLY scared when he got caught in a super sunken in bit of mud. He thought he was going to drown, so me and Waffles helped out. Obsidian described it as 'a small patch of swampland in a field of freshly-watered wheat'. To me it's just, well, mud. But it's kinda cute how he describes it so...... descriptively? He's better with words than me. After that we came back to the clan. Zareen and Ethyne were carrying a big box that kept shaking and bumping around.I asked them what it was, and Ethyne said to: 'Mind my own beeswax, whippersnapper'. I don't know where she thinks I get snappers, whips or bees to make wax. Zareen told me it was a surprise, for guess who, ME. I really wanted to open it, but they said it was for my birthday in a few weeks. It might be a familiar! Or some armour, that'd be cool too. I really want to be a warrior. I figure i'm good at fighting, so I could do that. I asked my friends what they wanted to do too. Obsidian isn't sure(but not anything where he has to fight), and Waffles wants to look after pets full time. Oh yeah! Today Waffles found this deserty rainy frog. She said it wasn't native to here, so it wouldn't survive in the wild. Waffles also said that she was taking it in as a pet. And so, now she has Mud the frog. I'm kidding, she called it Maple, apparently after the kind of syrup.
CHAPTER 4
Today, Zareen gave me and all the other hatchlings a talk about what school will be like. School starts the day after my birthday, in five days! She asked us to write about ourselves on a piece of paper. I wrote that I wanted to be a warrior, then I got bored and drew my ideas instead. When we'd handed the paper in, Zareen gave them out randomly to everybody. She said that the one who wrote the paper we got we would have to work on a small project with about ourselves. There weren't enough dragons for us to all work in partners, so some of us had to work in threes. And GUESS WHAT? I managed to get in a group with OBSIDIAN and WAFFLES! I am so lucky! I'm working with my friends on a project, WOOHOOO! We went back to mine and Zareen's home to plan our project.
