What was your first impression of your wife when you met her?

For context: Solstice or Sol is he/him and they/them. Burakucheri or Cheri is she/her and/or he/him. Sol is bad at remembering pronouns (#JustTundraTings) and in general doesn't have a concept or gender differences but Cheri also never corrects them on preferred pronouns cause she likes the gender euphoria of being addressed as male and female

Sol blinks sleepily as they pick their head up from the pile of cushions their laying on.

"Muh first thoughts of Cheri?"

He hums thoughtfully then his eyes twinkle with fondness.

"Well, if I remembers right mah first words was 'AHHHHHHHHH', cause he'd stepped on mah tail. Cause I was nappin' unders 'neath a bush, yuh see?

They snicker to themselves casting a glance to their partner, curled up and hiding her head under her wing. Flustered tail twitching from the embarrassing recounting.

"Ah hee hee hee well uh muh next word was 'WAHHHHHHHHHH 'cause when I pokes muh head out from me bush to see who done squished muh tail, I see a HUMONGOUS lion!"

The little red tundra quickly sits up on his haunches, suddenly very awake and animated. Eyes blown wide they throw out their paws dramatically and continue,

"I was scared stiff as uh tree, see?! It was the biggest scariest lion I'd ever did see b'fore. Is giant head could'a swallowed me whole in one bite! And-"

"My head is not that big!"

Cheri indignantly interjects, rasing his wing a little to glare at Sol from underneath. His tail tip lashing back and forth in annoyance.

Sols head snaps around to look at Cheri,

"Aw but, hunny! I loves yah big head! And yer big prudy eyes! And yer little silver an white stripes and yer warm scales and yer paws-"

"Okay, okay!"

Hisses a blushing Burakucheri, head once again buried under her wing, body curling tighter as she turns a shade redder.

"Finish telling your story, you silly little guy"

Says Cheri with a flick of his trembling tail.

Solstice, chuckling and grining mischievously turns back to face you,

"Hee hee uh well anyway where was we... um. Uhhhh. Hmm.... uh where was we?...
...
...yuh asked me a question right? Hmm.
...
OH!! THE LION!!"

"Right the lion, so, I's frozen in fear starin' at thus massive lion and then!! IT PEELS IS FACE CLEAN OFF!! but then, see? This here freshly peeled lion starts to speak in thee most beautiful dragconic I've ever heard b'fore."

The flustered gladiator turns a dark sanguine, her tail furiously wiggling like a snake trying to slither across linoleum.
The corners of Sol's mouth turn in a sly smile. Dramatically they throw one paw over their chest rasing the other paw to cup an ear,

"In a saccharine sweet voice that peeled lion says tuh me
'Oh my, I'm so sorry I didn't see you there. I was going to smell the flowers in the tree above you, are you ingured?'
Thens I realized it wan't a lion but a dragon in a mask. A very charming dragon in a mask. With lovely eyes like two bath tubs full a forest green pine needles...

He trails of wistfully.

"He just sat there and stared at me for about 5 minutes straight. I though they might have died, frozen like that. Or that I'd stepped on their head and given them a concussion"

Mumbles Cheri from under his wing. Sol turns to him, eyes filled with fondness. They shuffle off their perch on the pillows and go to rub their furry head against Cheri's large imposing wing. Ducking their head under the weathered lavender banner adorning Cheri's back and wings Sol continues,

"Mmhm I was too mesmerized tuh speak so yous asked me again
'Oh are you alright? Did I hurt you?
And I says back to yuh, do you remember what I says? I says;
'Beg your pardon, I though you was a big scary lion about to eats me. But now I sees the only scary thing about yuh is how handsome you is, see?'"

Burakucheri relaxes her body and picks her head up from under her wing. He reaches up and with his golden claws he slides the ferocious mask off his head. As she cranes her neck down to nuzzle Sol's soft maroon nose she replies,

"Oh yes, I remember you little sweet talker
