 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Forget xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx "Yu-Hsuan! Don't wander out too far!" He truly should have listened to his mother. He knows now, with his joints locked in place, and a skin hard as stone, but still just as stunning. His eyes were the only thing he could move with little to no effort. Plants clung to his wings, and animals nested in the crook of his neck and antlers, but he could do nothing to stop them - nor did he really want to. Everything was peaceful, and quiet, and calm. The artifact had done this to him. He wandered too far out, and the crystallized flower had just been too pretty to not touch. And from there, the transition was slow. They hadn't known what was happening when he got home; and they didn't know how to stop it, either. He remembered his mother crying as he slowly lost the ability to move, and eat. But he did not starve, even his innards turning to the beautiful green shade of jade. They lost function, but he was in no pain, and eventually, he tired of his mother's tears, and gathered the will and strength to walk, leaving his home behind to rest instead in the forest. It's calm here. He is happy.  Two skydancers sit on his wings. He listens to them thoughtfully, letting out soft hums as they chatter. "We have forgotten," says Clodbagh. "And you are so wise! Please, tell us if there is any way to recall what we've lost." "It could help us," Alphecca agrees, her tail curling around a few of his feathers. He thinks. What could have caused such calamity for these two ladies? They seem to have been kind enough. It takes only a moment for him to remember his act, to remember the artifact; that which caused him to become what he was. It would have been that, if anything; nobody knew what it did, other than make him a jade statue, a patron God. It takes a few more moments of thought before he lies, turning his head with great effort and staring openly at the skydancers. "I haven't a clue, miladies. However, if an answer may be found anywhere, it shall be in the Starfall Isles. Arcane dragons are wiser than I; one of the libraries may have an answer." "Clever Yu-Hsuan! We'll leave at once - come with us! Your stone could use the exercise!" He sighes, knowing he has dug himself into a hole, but he complies anyway, standing up and following the two on foot. Perhaps everything will turn out, anyway. In the forest, beauty may shine, But be wary, my friend, for not all is kind. One wrong touch, and you'll understand yet, For your foolish action can make many F O R G E T .
